Let’s Change the Norm. Together.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re aiming for something big. Super Bowl-big! When our PSA went viral, thousands said, “This belongs on the Super Bowl.” With your support, we can turn that energy into resources, advocacy, and real change for families.
Our goal is 65,000 individual donations, the same number of people who fill a Super Bowl stadium. Each donation, no matter the size, counts as one “seat” in our virtual stadium.
Every dollar donated says we refuse to let Big Tech define childhood. Together we are building the parent-powered visibility this message deserves. Parents, not brands or algorithms, should be shaping the experience of childhood.
Help us go big.
Who knows—maybe together we can get this PSA onto the biggest screen in America.
With a small but mighty team and a shoestring budget we had a championship year:
Co-founded the Distraction-Free Schools Policy Project in collaboration with the Becca Schmill Foundation, leading efforts to design and advance model legislation aimed at mitigating the overuse of smartphones, social media, and digital technologies in our nation's schools.
Mobilized and equipped over 30 active state teams to drive Phone-Free Schools (PFS) legislation nationwide.
Our advocacy contributed to the successful passage of PFS legislation in 36 states and DC, with more than half of these measures enacted as comprehensive bell-to-bell laws.
Developed and launched the Parent Group Locator Map, now featuring over 270 groups along with a guidebook on how to establish a new group.
Organized and facilitated over 50 expert webinars, community forums, and book discussions. Supported 100+ screenings of Can’t Look Away.
Established a Social Network for Good, connecting thousands of parents, advocates, and community leaders to exchange practical solutions, share resources, and foster collaboration.
Developed and disseminated practical resources, including the Declaration of Digital Independence, School Gen AI Opt Out guidance, instructions for blocking YouTube on school-issued devices, and more!
Help our mission go Super Bowl-big. Because parents, not algorithms, should shape childhood.
About Our Organization
Smartphone Free Childhood US is entirely by volunteer parents who believe children deserve a childhood free from smartphone and social media pressures. We've been funding our work out-of-pocket, but to reach more families, we need your support!
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 39-2810423). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Donation Policy: SFCxUS exists to protect and restore healthy childhoods by reducing the influence of smartphones, social media, and other persuasively designed digital technologies on children. To maintain our integrity and act in the best interests of children (ages 0–18), we are committed to financial independence. Read our complete Donation Policy.
